The Containment Unit and Stratford Soccer Association

Hello 7asiders!

There is a benefit concert coming up in support of the Stratford Soccer Association (SSA).  The SSA along with the City of Stratford have purchased the soccer fields at Packham Road and the SSA is fund raising to pay for our share.

Local Band, The Containment Unit will be playing.

There are door prizes, 50/50 draw, a silent auction for hockey tickets as well as drinks and food.

Location - Kiwanis Community Centre - 111 Lakeside Drive (beside Allman Arena)

Date - November 30th

Time - 8pm to 1am

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or in Advance from Tony Benton 519-273-6481.

The Kiwanis Centre is a small venue, there are only 180 tickets available and some have already been sold.  Get your ticket today and help out your Stratford Soccer Association.  Hurry, before it is sold out,

End of Season Banquet RSVP

Hi Everyone, 

Sadly the end of the season is upon us.

There are still 3 weeks of soccer remaining.  Please try and be at the field for 6pm because it is dark before 8 now.

Our end of Season Banquet is at Pino's Pizza  

535 Huron St. Stratford.

7:30pm  on Sept. 28th

Please invite your significant other.

Drinks and Food are provided by your 7asidesoccer club.

Please try to be at the field by 630pm.  Kick off should be no later than 6:45pm.  Recently we've had to wait for late arrivals to get started.  (Please do attend even if you are running late or can only play 1 half.)

Could you please reply upon receipt, (Yes, No, Maybe) and let us know if you will be attending the Mid-Season Party at Pino's after soccer on Wednesday?

Pino's needs to know how many are attending.

7-A-Side Soccer

                   

• Fun, Non-Contact soccer for people of varying abilities
• No Scores or Stats kept
• No officials
• Shirts - You will receive a Jersey upon payment of Membership.
• We play rain or shine.  Games may be called due to lightning.
• PLAY SAFE - no one wants an injury
• Please wear Soccer Cleats and Shin Pads as it is a requirement for our insurance.

Rules and Guidelines

• There are no offsides.
• Be honest - Each team calls their own penalties     (ex. hand ball).
• No slide tackles.
• No aggressive behaviour or demeaning comments.
• No set goalie (everyone is encouraged to take a turn).
• Involve all players (pass to everyone). Everyone pays the same fee and is entitled to equal play.
• If more than 7 or 8 players per team, substitution may be required.  Take your turn.
• If teams are uneven, captains or their designates can trade players for that night to ensure equal teams.
• If you are concerned about a safety issue, let your captain, designate or other team captain know immediately, so it can be resolved quickly.
• Suggestions, ideas and future help in running the club are appreciated.

4 Weeks until the 2013 Kickoff of "Pino's Pizza" 7 A Side Soccer

Hi Everyone, 

We would like to announce a change in our name and sponsorship.  
Thanks to Pino's Pizza for sponsoring our entire league for the 2013 season.

Each year our league becomes more popular and this year is no different we already have a number of new players so if you want to play this season, please Sign Up before April 30th, after that we will not be able to guarantee you a spot.  Those of you that have already signed up Thank You! 

The season will be starting at 630pm on May 15th and ending on September 25th.

You can Pay Online for your 2013 membership with your credit card, otherwise please bring cash or cheque (payable to 7asidesoccer) to the field.

Please wear Soccer Cleats and Shin Pads as it is a requirement for our insurance.

7 A-Side Soccer 2013 Season is set to Start May 15th

Hi Everyone,

Although there is still snow on the ground, it's less than 2 months until the 2013 season kicks off.

In order to have a great season we need to know who is planning on returning, so please Register early.  Feel free to invite your friends to join.

***NEW this year is our Blog.  Your email addresses will be added to the blog mailing list, so please accept the feeder subscription when you get it as it will be the main source of information throughout the season.  Don't worry you won't be bombarded with advertising or any more emails than you received in previous years.  The blog is available in mobile version as well so you can get it on your phone with your favourite reading app or just go to 7asidesoccer.blogspot.ca with your browser.

Membership for the 2013 season is the same as last year.  20 weeks of soccer for $70, that is less than $4 per week.  You can Pay Online for your 2013 membership with your credit card.

We will be playing on the same field as last year.

Please wear Soccer Cleats and Shin Pads as it is a requirement for our insurance.

Hopefully, we'll see all the familiar faces from previous seasons.  New and old friends will make for a great season.
